The Maltese Islands lie in the Mediterranean Sea. Malta measures 17 miles by 9 miles. Gozo is 9.5 miles by 4miles and takes about 30 minutes to get to on the ferry from Malta. Cominois 1 square mile.The population is 390.000. They drive on the left so British people feel at home though the signposts are not always visual. One person told me it took them 2 hours to find the place they wanted to visit and 30 minutes to return to the hotel, they are resurfacing the roads but the majority of them have potholes.

The capital of Malta is Valletta and Gozo's capital is Victoria.

So much history, Knights of St John, Maltese Falcon and the George Cross.

You will be surprised to see that most of the Islands signs are in English. Their language is a cross between Arabic, Italian, Spanish, French with a smattering of English.

There are many ways to get around the island. The buses would seem to be the best, they operate at frequent intervals from all parts of the island to the Valletta terminus at the City Gates.
