Rhodes has an area of 1,350 square kilometers and is approx. 75 km in length and 35 km across at its broadest. It is the largest island of the Dodecanes, (the name means twelve islands) Rhodes (or Rodos) has become an important regional centre, thanks to its location, climate and natural attractions. Rodos is known as the isle of the Sun.

The city of Rhodes is well worth a visit or two as there is so much to see. Lindos is a must for the Acropolis, don't forget to take the donkey ride up. Faliraki is not for the light hearted, the party centre of Rhodes. Symi Island is worth a days visit as it is a picture book place and the ferry trip out is enjoyable as well.
